Over the weekend all of my children decided to get sick, the twins first sickness at 6 months. I tried to take them all to the doctor at a weekend clinic on Sunday. However, they only saw children over the age of 5. Halle was diagnosed with a respiratory virus and given antibiotic and cough medicine. Sydney was some better on Monday so we decided just to take the twins to our doctor on Monday. Syd never developed the croopy cough that Halle and the twins have. Seriously it sounds like they have been smokers for 30 years.
Jeffrey and his mom took Carlee and Kalee on Monday. Dr. Green(yes we have changed due to the move of Dr Busceme) said they had what was going around. He asked if anyone else was sick in the house, and Jeffrey said they all were. Dr Green said it was very contagious. He gave them albuterol for their wheezing and cough medicine. He wrote them each a script for the albuterol and one script for the cough medicine. I just thought that was strange. He said that if they did not get better we may have to eventually due some breathing treatments. He said it was very hard to get over and it would be tougher for them because they were preemies. We had taken them just 2 weeks prior for their RSV shots but he said this was entirely different from RSV. As expensive as those shots are you would think it would fend off anything!!!!
It is now Wednesday and Halle is much better. She only missed one day of school. The twins are some better but still sound a little wheezy and have a cough. We are hoping the medicine will kick in soon. They were due for their 6 month shots today but we had to post pone that until next week due their illness. Two weeks ago Carlee weighed 14 lbs 11 1/2 ozs and Kalee weighed 14 lbs 15 ozs. Now this is naked with only a dry diaper on because the dosage depends on their weight. When we took them on Monday, Carlee weighed 15 lbs 13 ozs and Kalee weighed 16 lbs 4 ozs. Debbie said they were clothed and both probably needed a diaper, but WOW these girls are growing!
