Together At Last

Carlee and Kalee were seperated for about 1 week. They couldn't be together in the same bed until they were free from some tubes and wires. Sweet girls haven't stopped sleeping with one another since!

Tuesday June 17, 2008

Carlee 4lbs 2 ozs Kalee 4 lbs 1 oz
After 5 days of contractions, several doctors trying to stop them, and 2 hospitals, Carlee and Kalee arrived at 5:12 and 5:14 pm at 32 weeks via C- section. They look just pitiful in these pictures but believe it or not they were a couple of the healthiest babies in the NICU.

Double The Family, Double The Love

Jeffrey, Halle, Sydney, and I were truly blessed a year ago this Wednesday when Carlee and Kalee entered our family! They have been a true blessing to our family and we have enjoyed every moment of the past year!
I hope you all enjoy looking at the pictures of the birthday celebration of Carlee and Kalee's first birthday!
Post overload today as well..... one post went to the older posts. Check it out... it is a sweet one!

Double The Guests, Double The Fun

Carlee and Kalee had a big day playing with all their guests at the party! The trampoline, however, was a little too crowded for them. :)
All the kiddos had fun playing on the playground. The adults were content sitting in the shade eating and watching them play.
Thanks to everyone who came to enjoy Carlee and Kalee's first birthday!

Double The Gifts, Double The $

Thanks to everyone who came to Carlee and Kalee's first birthday and not only brought one gift but two! From a little help from mom, dad, and Syd, Carlee and Kalee opened and loved all their gifts. (Halle was too busy playing).
The girls received great gifts. They got several new clothes, push toys so they can learn to walk finally, outside toys from toy lawn mowers that blow bubbles to play pools to swim rings for the pool. They also received money that will go in the bank for future investments! :) They loved the boxes and the wrapping paper just as much as the toys! ;) Seriously though, they loved all their gifts and have been playing with them already!
My brother also donated money to the Baptist NICU in Carlee and Kalee's name for their birthday. Thanks Brandon for such a thoughtful gift on top of the other gifts you gave them! They love their "I love my uncle" bibs! :)

Double The Cake, Double The Mess

Thanks to my mom's best friend, Becky, we always have beautiful cakes that taste wonderful. Once again the cake looked awesome! She and I put alot of hard work into making the girls' first birthday cake special.
As you can see Carlee and Kalee each had her own cake with her own candle. Plus we had a big cake with the girls picture on it. Fyi the picture on the cake took several photo sessions!! ;)
Carlee and Kalee didn't blow out their candles but with help from the wind and big sisters the candles were blown out. They did love eating the cake. Kalee loved it a little more than Carlee but both required a bath when they were finished!

Look Who Is Standing Alone

I'm not going to make you guess for this one because you can't see her face well.... Kalee has been standing alone for several seconds but hasn't figured out to step yet. You can tell from the picture that she is not very graceful at it yet. She was on her way to sitting back down when I snapped this picture, thus her looking for the ground. :)
Kalee is standing for longer periods of time every day but Carlee is walking along furniture better. They both do well at pushing the push toys around.
The race is on to see who officially walks first. Carlee crawled first just as a reminder but only by a few days. Time will tell......

Finally.... Toddler Car Seats

Not sure who is happier about the new toddler car seats, Halle, Syd, Carlee, Kalee, or Me!!!
Halle and Syd use to have to crawl under the infant seats to get out of the car. But no longer, they can easily get out of the car now.
Carlee and Kalee love being turned around(yes, we cheated by a few days). They can now watch the movie with the big girls. Hope they like Another Cinderella Story because that is the movie of choice these days! LOL They can also see their surroundings better, which is a good and bad thing. They liked it at first but then they saw me, and they wanted me to get them out! I hope this will pass....
As for me, I no longer have to carry that bulky car seat again!! We are all happy and when 5 girls are happy you know the change is good! ;)

No More Formula

First off please excuse the girls morning "do!" I've been working for about 2 weeks gradually adding more and more whole milk to Carlee and Kalee's formula. Thursday morning they drank their first cup of whole milk with no formula!!!!! Jeffrey said whoever is complaining about the price of a gallon of milk is not having to buy formula!!! They were going through 2 large cans of formula a week.
However, I've finally ran out of diapers from my diaper shower so I guess I traded buying formula to buying diapers! :)

First And Last Ride In Infant Car Seats

O my how things change in what seems like a blink of an eye..... I can not believe they are almost a year old (you will hear me say this alot this week)! They have grown so much! I can not believe they were so tiny. I really don't think I realized how tiny they were. Be prepared for photos of the past this week.... I have been going down memory lane with all of my girls, looking at pictures of Halle and Syd when they turned 1. Fun times....Can't wait for many more! :)

Carlee and Kalee Are Turning 1!!

Thought I'd post the twins birthday invitation.... I thought they turned out so cute!
Can not believe they will be 1 in a week! Honestly it has really flown by so quickly! They are weighing in at 22 lbs... a far cry from 4lbs 2oz and 4 lbs 1 oz. I'm planning on posting pictures from when they were born. I've been looking at them this week and it makes me want to cry!! They were so tiny! We are really blessed they are so healthy and no one could tell now that they were preemies!
Be ready for lots of pictures from the party! I'm expecting them to dive into their cake. They are each one going to have a cake with a candle plus a big cake.
It should be lots of fun!

Sleeping Babies

A frequent question I get about the girls is, "Do they still sleep together?" Obviously from the picture the answer is yes!
So sweet....I don't put them in this position but it doesn't seem to matter how I lay them down, they always end up in a different position every morning.
I'm not sure when I will move them to seperate beds. For now this seems to work and they sleep great through the night so I don't see changing any time soon.

Love This Picture

I love this picture of Carlee... She was sitting in the jeep while we were listening to the Razorbacks baseball team at the reunion on Saturday and just happened to be holding a Razorback hat! Love it, too cute! GO HOGS!

Enjoying Outside

Our garden has began to produce. The girls love picking the cucumbers and squash, so far no tomatoes are ready.
I was going to pull the babies in their wagon the other night and Halle and Syd wanted to ride too. Now, talk about a work out.... that was a load! Jeffrey was fishing so I was pulling them around and finally had to quit because it was killing me! LOL

Cogburn Reunion '09

On Sunday, we went to the Cogburn Reunion. Sydney was sick with a virus so she stayed with her Nana. She is feeling much better now. Everyone missed her. They were all counting my kids, saying, "Hey, aren't you missing one?" LOL
Dad fed the babies strawberry cake, which they loved. I love the picture of Kalee looking up at him with that grin on her face! It was as if she were saying, "Thanks Pa!" They were exhausted from church because they did not nap so they slept in their car seats for a little while. I hope this is one of the lasts pictures I have of these car seats. I got their new ones in last week. :) I had my dad load one for me because they are so heavy. He said that he didn't know how I carried them! 22 lbs and the car seat weight is a good work out!
Halle was being her typical self.... entertaining the crowd! We enjoyed it but hopefully we won't have to attend another family reunion for awhile! :)

Mounts Reunion '09

Saturday was the Mounts Reunion. The girls had a great time playing with cousins. The big picture is of Jerry with two of his brothers and their families. He has one brother that was unable to attend. Several of his cousins were able to be there as well. We enjoyed good food and time spent with family.
