Our Girls

Mom went shopping for the girls again and got them the cutest dresses. They were all sporting a new outfit this morning for church. OH yeah and I might have been too! :) I saw a shirt the other day that said...Not Spoiled, BLESSED! This is quite true for my girls and me!
We did have to put sweaters on them because it was a little cold out this morning. They are all smiling at their daddy because they think he is so crazy! LOL He would say it was because they love him the most but either way we got a great picture! Can't you just feel the sisterly love.... for now! :)

Have I Mentioned We Have Crawlers....

I was getting ready yesterday and left the girls playing in the living room. I heard one of them crying and went to check on them. I found them in the kitchen looking for food. LOL It was lunch time. Carlee is the leader in this picture, Kalee not far behind. Got to love the crawling stage....

Fishing With Pa

Halle has been fishing with Pa a couple of times in the past week. The first time she went crappie fishing with Pa and Jeff Heifner. I needed him to watch her for a couple of hours the other day so he just took her fishing with them. She got to help reel in the two fish in the picture. I think she did actually catch a little bass that day all by herself.
She did so well with that trip that Pa asked her to go with him to fish a tournament on the Dierks lake which was from 2-7. She was excited to go but I didn't think that she would fish the entire time. She proved me wrong and stayed the whole time. Dad said that she threw for about 3 hours straight then she found the clock. He said that after that she asked frequently how much longer and when was it over. And asked him about a million questions.
They didn't catch but a few fish that day but had tons of fun. They did get to weigh one I think but didn't win any money. She was fine with that because she beat a couple of people she wanted to because they didn't weigh any.
She was a true fisherman though because when she got home she told her Nana that they lost because a big one got away! :)
A few days later the counselor at school came in to my dad's work. She told dad that she had been talking to Halle's class about never giving up. They are preparing to take the Stanford 8 after spring break. She said that she was telling them that they should never give up and always do their best. She said that Halle raised her hand and said that her Pa and she had fished in a tournament and that they tried and tried but finally they just had to give up! My dad thought that was so funny.... Guess sometimes you give up until the next time.

Another Project

Every time Halle has a project at school, I think about how many more times that I'm going to have to help with that same project.... Then I think at some point I'm going to have to do two at once.... Oh I can't wait! :)
Halle's class is decorating a bullentin board for Easter. Everyone got to decorate an egg however he/she wanted. I thought Halle's egg turned out well. I honestly didn't do much. I just wrote the letters for her name and she used the glue and glitter. She also used pink glitter to seperate the different colors which doesn't show in the picture. She also used several stickers and jewels. She was proud of it and couldn't wait to get to school with it this morning.
While she was getting ready this morning she asked me if I knew that our school had proms and that she would have one when she got bigger. I said yeah and told her that believe it or not we had proms when I was in school. LOL Anyway I asked her if she knew what a prom was. She said that it was a dance and that John Patrick had told them about it at school. I just pictured a bunch of 1st graders sitting around talking about prom which made me smile! John Patrick's mom is the principal at the high school so I'm sure he has been hearing her talk about it. She then went on to tell me that they had all decided who was going with who when they were old enough for their prom. I'm going to put it down now so when they are old enough we can all look back and see if it is still the same. How many think that it will be?! :)
Halle/John Patrick , Kennedy/ Aaron , Maddi/ Chandler , Peyton/ Elion , Savannah/ Triston,
Jacey / Will
These are just a few of her friends and what I can remember now. Oh my, true love in the first grade!

Ohhh Our Halle Grace

Yesterday Halle passed 100 book tests at school. She was so proud of herself as you can see! She wore her medal all evening. Her teacher gave her a dollar for the accomplishment also. You would have thought she had never seen a dollar in her life... We are so proud of her as well. She was only required to pass 50 for the year. She loves to read and is trying to see how many she can read in a year. Her goal was 100 before spring break which is next week. Now she is trying to just read the most books in her class.
She informed her dad and I that she needed a prize from us as well. I have a feeling that we are not going to get off with just a dollar.... oh and beware grandparents she has her hopes on everyone getting her something for the accomplishment.
The first picture is also from yesterday. On the days I pick her up from school we always have to go to the Shell and get her a snack. Even though she has just had a snack at school, we still go everytime. Yesterday she picked hawaiian punch and fun dip. I told her that she could not eat or drink that in the car, which you all can imagine went over well! So we get home and I tell her that she can't have them in the toy room either, which also went over well.... She says fine I'll just eat them outside.
I went on about my business which included baby stuff and checked on her about 5 minutes later. The picture is the way I found her.... She was sitting in the flower beds outside her toy room window. She had unlocked the window, raised it, turned the tv so she could see it, adjusted the volume so she could hear it, shut the toy room door so I couldn't hear it was up too loud, gotten her a chair from the playground, and was propped in that chair eating and drinking her food. When she saw me she just said, I told you I was going to eat outside and I didn't want to miss my cartoon..... What can you say to that?!?

Eye Visit

My brother and I took the girls Friday for their eye appointment. We took them to Texarkana to a pediatric opthamologist. Since they were preemies we have to get their eyes checked often. He was checking for lazy eyes and crossing of the eyes.
Carlee and Kalee did well. He had to dilate their eyes which makes the third time that they have had their eyes dilated since they were born. Thus the cute glasses in the photos....that they did not keep on. We just covered their heads with blankets when we loaded them in and out of the car.
Both girls are a little more far sighted than normal but it's not bad enough to require glasses at this time. He said since their eyes were not crossing at this time, he wouldn't reccommend glasses now. However in a year from now if their eyes are the same, they will need glasses.
He said sometimes it corrects itself and sometimes glasses are required. However if we start noticing that they cross their eyes at any point, he will put them in glasses at that time.
We are praying that their eyes continue to do well and that we don't have to deal with glasses. However if they end up needing glasses, we feel fortunate that they are as healthy as they are. We can always deal with glasses.

1st Target Trip

Carlee and Kalee made their first shopping trip to Target. They have been to Wal-Mart a few times but never Target.
I bought these cute little covers that work for shopping carts and high chairs. I believe it is one of the best inventions ever! It really cuts down on germs.
They did great shopping and we always gets lots of attention while we are out and about with them.

9 Month Check Up

Today Debbie and I took the girls for their 9 month check up. Honestly it was a complete waste of time. I realize that with any other baby a 9 month check up is good so the doctor can monitor weight, eating habits, skills, etc., but for our babies it was a complete waste of time. Now I'm not complaining that they didn't need shots or have to have blood drawn today( this is at 12 month visit), but really all that was done today was weighing them and checking to make sure they were hitting mile stones. All this could have been done when I took them for their RSV shot in April. Oh well, I can see the light of our doctor appointments coming to a slow down!
On to the stats......
Carlee weighed 18 lbs 11 ozs and was 26 3/4 inches. Kalee weighed 18 lbs 13.5 ozs and was 26 1/2 inches. Both girls were in 50% for weight and 25% for height.
Both girls
-Sleep through the night. They go to bed around 10:30 and wake up around 7.
-Drink from sippy cups, no more bottles. They drink 8ozs in morning and at night. At noon and 5 they eat 3 jars of baby food between them and drink 4 ozs of milk at each feeding. We stay to that schedule...7, 12, 5, and 10.
-Wear 6-9 month clothes.
-Wear size 3 diapers.
-Their feet are tiny. They are just now able to wear size 1 shoe.
-Crawling or creeping along the floor as our doctor put it today. :)
-Babbling mainly still mamama. Jabbering alot but can't really make out anything else yet.
-Love toys. Kalee still likes to take all toys away from Carlee.
-Love bath time.
-Still no teeth for either.
-Kalee loves to jump in her jumper while Carlee is content to sit in hers and play with the toys.
-Love everyone as long as he/she is talking to them.
Sydney was a trooper once again. She said on the way over that Ms Kaye( the nurse) was going to be so happy to see her. And of course, she was.
To me the girls are looking completely different lately. For others, not so much even Jeffrey is having a hard time when he doesn't see them together.
We are so amazed at how far they have come from their tiny selves! No one could ever tell now that they were preemies coming 8 weeks early! We are so blessed and fortunate to have 4 healthy girls!

First Softball Practice Of Season

Halle started practicing softball this week. This is her third year to play. She is still in the league where the coaches pitch to you. Next year she will move up to the pitching machine.
Her team is Pony Power. The teams are smaller this year with only 8 girls on her team oppossed to about 16 last year. This is due to adding the pitching machine league.
Jeffrey is her coach again this year. He is really great with the girls and they all seem to learn a few skills.
Halle had a good practice. She hit the ball real well. It's so fun watching this age...good thing I like it because we are going to have one in this league for some time! :)
We start games April 10th.

Another Crawler

We have another crawler!!! Kalee started crawling Friday. Life at our house is getting interesting.
On another note, the girls haven't had a bottle since Friday night. They did so well with the sippy cups, I decided not to use bottles anymore.....big girls!

Weekend At The River

This weekend the girls and I stayed at the river with my mom and Rick. Jeffrey ran in the half marathon on Sunday so he spent the night at Little Rock. He ran it in 1 hour and 56 minutes. He was wanting to run it under 2 hours so he was happy.
The weather was terrible outside so we had to spend most of our time inside. Halle did sneak in some outside time climbing on the deck on Sunday.
Brandon also stayed and Halle had fun fixing his hair. He also played ball with Sydney in the hall but he wouldn't let me post that picture of him.... :)
Halle and Sydney always get in the pack and play at Gran's house to watch tv. They use to sleep in it until the twins came along and need it. Halle still sleeps in it if she stays there without them. She calls it her house.
We had a great weekend.

Sleeping Babies

So I finally took the wedges out of the babies bed that they were sleeping on to keep them from moving around. They also kept them elevated to help with their reflux when they were smaller. The girls just finally got too big for them.
The other morning I found them this way....Carlee looked so comfortable using Kalee as a pillow.

New Vehicle

So for obvious reasons we out grew the Yukon. Thanks to York Gary and their wonderful sales person, aka my mom, we own a LTZ Suburban. The girls love it and it gives us tons more space in the back for groceries and the stroller. Halle loves the navigation system in it. This morning she made me type in the address for her school so the nice lady could give us directions. As long as Sydney has a tv she's happy!

Guess Who Crawled First

We have a crawler!! Now granted it is more of a belly crawl than up on all 4s crawl but still we are calling it crawling. As you can tell from the picture she is quite proud of herself.
Naturally she did this for Debbie first yesterday but she was willing to show Jeffrey and I as soon as we got home. We caught it on video so I'll try to get it up so y'all can see.
She decided to crawl first because she must have over heard us saying that we thought the other one would first. She decided to show us.... I even told the other one that if she crawled for Debbie first that I was going to spank her bottom when I got home! :) Atleast she minds, because she didn't crawl and I really thought she would by the way she was moving.
Just shows me that they are going to keep me guessing as I am you all....... Start guessing. I'll let you know in a couple of days who it is so you can see if you're right.

First Time Drinking From Sippy Cup

Today I decided it was time to introduce a sippy cup to Carlee and Kalee. I was amazed at how well they liked it. Carlee drank hers up really fast. I had to work with Kalee a little to get her to drink hers but she eventually drank it all. I wasn't expecting them to like it so well. We might get rid of the bottle sooner than we did with Sydney. I mention only Sydney because Halle never took a bottle....
Kalee on left, Carlee on right.

First Bath in Bathtub

Today the girls took a bath in the big bathtub for the first time. They loved it. I let them splash and play longer than I normally do in the little tub. They loved chewing on their frog toys.
It was really easier giving them a bath together. I think they enjoyed it more too.
Mom told me I should start distinguishing who is who on my posts so I'm going to try to do better with this. She thinks we may not remember who is who later. I was watching The Doctors today, and they had triplets on the show. They looked exactly the same. They said that when they were little their parents tattooed them. One had one dot on her bottom , one had two dots and the other didn't have one. I thought this was funny because I have made the comment that we could tattoo a C and a K on the girls but I would never actually do this while they are young....
Anyway, in the bathtub Carlee is on the left, Kalee on the right. In their towels, it's the opposite.

Rainy Days

It's been raining for the past two days and extremely cold. On the days that I work Papaw takes Sydney to Ms. Jamie's. Halle walks her down there. Yesterday they had to use their umbrellas. Halle's umbrella is Hannah Montana and Syd's umbrella is Dora of course.

Another Set Of Twins

Our family has just increased in size once again. My aunt, Carolyn Jo is a proud grandmother again. Brayden Donald and Brooke Danielle were born around noon weighing 4 lbs 13 ozs and 5 lbs 1 oz. Both were breathing well at last report.
My granny now has 3 sets of great grandchildren twins. She had 5 children, Ronnie, Larry and Garry (twins), Diane, and Carolyn Jo. My cousin, Leigh ,who belongs to Diane, has twin boys about 5. I have twin girls, obviously, and now my other cousin, Heath has a boy and a girl. I just think that is the neatest thing.
Please pray that all continues to go well with the babies.

Carlee and Kalee Love To Swing

Yesterday was another pretty day. Halle and Sydney enjoyed jumping on the trampoline, and Carlee and Kalee swang for the first time. They enjoyed it so much that I think I'm going to need to purchase another one. We're sad that it's going to get cold again this weekend. We have enjoyed the longer and warmer days.

Spring Is In The Air

Mom came over today to bring the girls tons of clothes she had bought, Easter baskets for the twins, and flowers for me...Yes we are spoiled!
The flowers look awesome. We love this time of year! The girls enjoyed playing outside and we even let the twins sit outside for a little while.
After we planted the flowers my mom was digging out some of my old flowers out of the pots on my porch. She commented that she didn't know how in the world I could kill English Ivy... I informed her that I kept 4 girls watered and fed so be quiet about the flowers! :) Also my thumb is not quite as green as hers. However lucky for me when she got to looking it wasn't dead after all!

Bowling and Pizza

Friday night Halle's friend Kennedy spent the night with us. Jeffrey and I took them to DeQueen for bowling and pizza. Sydney got to go too. One game was enough for them but they enjoyed playing some video games afterwards. Lucky for us Kennedy and Halle both scored a 55. Sydney scored a little higher than that thanks to her daddy. Jeffrey won of course and we won't mention my score.... However I did bowl a strike 1st frame!! Jeffrey informed me that is was dumb luck... He's right I'm much better on the Wii.
My dad stayed with the twins. I asked him earlier in the week if he could stay with them and he said no problem. When we left Bev wasn't there yet which is not unusual because she works at DeQueen. He neglected to tell me that she wasn't coming because she was sick!! He knew I would be nervous without her there!! He had to change a dirty diaper which served him right for lying to me! He did make it fine but when we returned one baby was with Jerry and Debbie. :)
Saturday the girls enjoyed playing outside. Jeffrey took them to the park to practice softball and to play at the playground. It was a perfect weekend!

March RSV shots

6 down, 1 more to go...Friday Debbie and I took the girls for their 6th RSV shot. Kalee weighed 17lbs 9.5 ozs and Carlee weighed 17 lbs 6.5 ozs. This is the closest that they have been together in weight in several weigh ins. Just a few more lbs and we can get rid of those infant car seats. This was also the first time that they sat up to be weighed...big girls!
We go back in two weeks for their 9 month well check. No shots for that visit but best I remember I think they might have to get some blood that visit. :(
We went to eat at McAllisters afterwards and they sat in a high chair for the first time. I unfortunately didn't remember to snap a picture but better believe I'll get one next time. They looked so cute and it was much easier just carrying them in instead of having to tote that car seat around. I purchased some of those covers for the shopping carts and for high chairs. They looked real cozy and I don't have to worry with the germs!
Sydney as always covered her ears when the babies got their shots and hid this time too. She has seen one too many doctors lately and she was taking no chances!! :)

Pedicures

Thursday Halle had to go to the dentist to have a cavity filled. I know the dental hygienist kid with cavities....
Anyway she was a perfect angel!! She didn't even use the nitrous. I was so proud! Whoever said bribbing doesn't help has never met Halle.... And I might have snuck one in too!!
It was a great day for the two of us.

Mamaw's Birthday

Last Saturday we celebrated my mamaw's birthday at the river. She received lots of good gifts and lots of loving from the kids. For 77 , she can still keep up with them great!
I have tons of childhood memories that involve my mamaw. I would spent nearly every weekend at her house and would've stayed through the week if my parents would've let me. I couldn't for the life of me figure out why I couldn't then. Now as a parent the answer has become clear. Sydney would spend every night away from us if we would let her. We do let her stay with her grandparents alot but we want to spend time with her as well.
Mamaw lived on a dirt road and her mother lived right down the road from her and my aunt lived up the road. There is no telling how many times my cousins and I went up and down that road on our bikes.
I have so many memories but the best ones are her telling us stories of the Three Little Pigs and the Three Bears and scratching are backs as we went to sleep. She also makes the best chocolate gravy and biscuits. She would always let us help her cook too. Halle loves to help cook and I just smile when she does and remember when I was the same way. We loved outside and mamaw made work seem fun whether we were racking leaves or helping in the garden.
I'm so fortunate that I have so many grandparents around for my children to love. They, like I do, will remember these days forever!

Sawyer's 4th Birthday

Last Saturday Sydney and I went to her friend Sawyer's house to celebrate his 4th birthday. He goes to Mrs. Jamie's with her and they are big buddies. She had a great time but unfortunately it was extremely cold and windy that day. The kids didn't seem to mind though. They had fun playing on his swing set and hitting the Sponge Bob pinata.
The other day Sydney informed me that she loved Sawyer and Jacee loved Gavin. These are all kids that go out to Mrs. Jamie's. I told her daddy and he said, "Is there no age that is safe?" I told him that unfortunately for him I was afraid not and that he better get use to it!! Poor guy...4 girls!
We did enjoy the party but Sydney developed an ear infection later on in the week. I should have remembered her hat like other parents did for their children. This is our first infection since her tubes where put in which unfortunately are obviously out. We are now holding our breath that she doesn't get another one....hurry up spring!
