Another Sick Baby Girl

Kalee woke up sounding croopy this morning so I made her an appointment to see Dr. Green.
Debbie took her for me so I didn't have to miss another day of work. Dr. Green gave her 5 days worth of steroids but no shot. She doesn't sound quite as bad as Carlee did. She also has a rash on her stomach that I wanted him to look at which he said appeared to be something viral.
For a pacifier update, they are both doing great without it during the day even at nap time and with them both being sick. They go to sleep without it at bedtime but fuss around in the night wanting it so we've been giving it to them so they will go back to sleep. Hopefully this will phase out and they won't need it at all! I'm not complaining though. I'm really surprised at how well they are doing without it.
Kalee weighed 23 lbs 4 ozs today. No wonder it's hard for me to carry them both these days!!!

Birthday Girl

Yesterday Halle turned 7. She wanted lasagna for dinner along with her favorite dip, sour cream and ranch dip. Dad, B, mom, Brandon, and Aunt JoJo came over to Nana and Papaw's for dinner and to celebrate her "real" birthday. I brought home an ice cream cake from Texarkana that was awesome. The girls loved it. Halle once again blew out her candles while we sang happy birthday to her. That was the 3rds time, once at her party, then Sunday Nana made cupcakes. LOL Gran and Papa Rick sent her balloons to school along with a jewelry box. We sent her balloons as well with a stuffed Outlaw horse attached to them. JoJo took Syd to town to get her one because they were fighting over it. JoJo to the rescue.... We also got her an itunes gift card that she was very excited about. Nana got her the Hannah movie that we've already watched several times. We have seen the Ice Cream Freeze portion of it many more times than that. LOL Halle and Syd just about have it down. Carlee and Kalee just dance and clap. Brandon bought her the connection for her ipod so she can listen to it in the car. She had a great day and if you can't tell is spoiled rotten! I can't believe she is 7.....

Sick Baby Girl

Yesterday I took Carlee to the doctor because Sunday afternoon she woke up from her nap sounding like an old man who had been smoking for 50 years. Sunday night Jeffrey and I were up with both girls until the weeee hours of the morning. Kalee was restless because of her teeth and Carlee was having trouble breathing when I laid her down. Dr. Green came in to check her out and asked me her symptoms. I told him that it sounded to me like she had the croop. He listened to her and he said, "She has the croop." I should have been a doctor! :) He asked if she had ever had the croop before because once a child gets it they tend to get it every year. I was like well one of my children have had croop before but I wasn't sure she had. Bottom line is she has it.... Ms. Kay gave her a steroid shot and Dr. Green placed her on steroids for 3 days along with cough medicine. It is so strange how fast she became sick. Kalee was the one that ran fever for a couple of days but as of this posting she is fine. Now tomorrow I may have her at the doctor..... He said that it was contagious and with twins it is almost impossible to keep them apart..... Carlee weighed 23lbs 3 ozs.

Church Outing

Last night some people from our church ate at Poblanos and went bowling. The girls love to eat at Papas and bowl so they have been excited about it ever since they announced at church we were going! Several other kids were there so they all bowled on one lane. They had a great time. Halle said she bowled a 50.... Not too far off from what I heard her daddy bowled! LOL Kalee ran fever Friday night and most of the day yesterday so I stayed home with Carlee and Kalee. My dad came out and stayed with me too because he was planning on keeping them anyway. Kalee is better today...No fever last night or today. I really think both of them are trying to get some more teeth.

Friday night Halle had her 1st sleepover of the school year.... week 1. She and Kennedy had a good time. Friday night we went to Kim's swimming and for a cook out. Jeffrey's cousin is leaving today to begin his training to become a State Trooper so all the family got together to wish him luck. The girls had a great time in the pool for several hours. Halle fell off the diving board and scraped up her knee and elbow but she eventually got back in the water and played some more. Saturday they played outside for several hours because the weather has been absolutely beautiful. Fall is in the air.

Another Birthday Party

Gavin had his 5th birthday party at the park yesterday. I left my camera at home so I took this photo with my phone. Sydney was very excited that Sawyer was at the party. He was her buddy at Ms. Jamie's house. On the way to the party she told me that there was going to be a wedding at the birthday party. I asked her whose wedding and she said hers and Sawyers. LOL I always tell Sydney to watch for cars when she crosses the little road that separates the play area from the pavillion. She did so well minding me that even a parent commented how well she watched for cars. After Gavin opened his presents the kids headed back over to play some more before cake. Sawyer grabbed Syd's hand and told her that he would hold her hand while they crossed the road. It was so cute!! Unfortunately I never could get a picture......
Kids in photo... Syd, Macay, Sawyer, and Gavin.

Syd The Driver

Like most kids, our girls love to "drive" on our dirt road. Last night Syd got to drive us home from the blue/white game. Sorry no pics from game because it was yucky and rained off and on.
Halle and Syd also got their cheerleader suits yesterday from Ms. Carol. Not the cutest suits I've seen from years past but they are ok..... The girls were excited to have them! Carlee and Kalee are still a little young for the suits. They are just not that comfortable for the little ones and they probably still won't be making many games this year. I am having them some shirts made and some spirit pants for the pep rallies.

Jury Still Out

Kalee
Carlee
So the jury is still out whether Carlee and Kalee are pacifier free yet or not..... I've been working hard mainly giving it to them during nap time and at night. Yesterday both did not need their pacifier for their morning nap. However I left them with nana when I went to pick Halle up from school yesterday and she gave in and gave it to them for their afternoon nap. To her credit, she did try not to give it to them mainly because I didn't take the pacifiers down to her (LOL) but she eventually ended up calling and saying that they had been screaming for quite some time and wanted to know where the pacifiers were. :) She said she gave the pacifiers to them and in two seconds they were both asleep.
Today at nap time I put both of them in their jumps as I always do at nap time and they went right to sleep with no pacifiers and little crying!!! We will see what happens tonight.... Last night Carlee went to sleep without hers but needed it during the night. Baby girls are getting there but I know it is just going to take time and a nana with a strong will!!! :)
In case any of our followers are wondering why I'm trying to take the twins pacifiers away this early, I will explain. I'm a hygienist who really doesn't want children with buck teeth. I've seen many children with this issue and who eventually end up in a habit appliance, which in case your wondering looks terrible and like torture. My philosophy is to take the pacifier away before they can really start asking for it and screaming, "I want my pacifier!"
By the way......How cute are they sleeping......

First Day Of 2nd Grade

Halle started her first day of 2nd grade today. She was very excited last night and this morning. She went right to bed last night and got up the first time I told her to this morning! We will see how long that lasts.... :)
Mrs. Terri Shelton is her teacher. Halle is very excited to have her as her teacher. Several of Halle's friends are in her class this year. She was ready to see them all this morning! She picked out of her clothes this morning which is beginning to be a big thing. She tells me that she is old enough to do this by herself now. She really wanted to wear her new high top shoes but was torn because she had gone with her Nana and Syd to get mani/pedis on Monday and really wanted to show her toes. I'm sure she will wear them tomorrow. They are quite the conversational piece! :) As always school traffic was crazy this morning. It always is for about the first two weeks. Some of the teachers were having to park on the side of the road because so many parents were getting out with their children. Halle said, "Wow, have we got that many new teachers?" I told her that no that was just the parents getting out. Halle said, "You are not going to do that, are you?!" I said no I didn't when you were in kindergarten nor 1st grade so why would I now! :) She has always been so independent! We are looking forward to a great year!

Halle's 7th Birthday Party

Halle had a great time at her 7th birthday party. She loved her cake. It was so cute! Most of friends were able to come to her party and a few that couldn't come even sent some gifts. She received lots of gift cards and money. She's already bugging me wanting to go spend it!! Jeffrey and I got her tickets to go see Taylor Swift in September. Syd is getting to go as well. They are both extremely excited about it!! Brandon got her the megaphone purse and some Justice jeans. She loved them and has carried her purse everywhere. Nana and Papaw got her a new Wii game she was wanting Wii Sports Resort. We've all been enjoying that one! :) They are also going to buy her the new Hannah Montana movie that comes out tomorrow. My dad and B (Pa and B) got her a new Nintendo DS game that her and Syd have been fighting over.... guess what Syd is getting for her birthday!! :) Jeremy and Wendi got her the Wizard of Waverly Place CD she was wanting along with some books. My mom and Rick (Gran and Papa Rick) got her an ipod that she asked for. Mom bought it but she wanted me to put some songs on it so she could listen to it when she got it. I thought, yeah ok how hard can it be....... It took me 3 days to do it!! Finally after 3 days and many consults with the high school girl that works with me, I figured it out! I felt so old. I can remember when I was young my parents and grandparents always had my brother and I programming the VCR, helping them with their home phones and answering machines, or anything else electronic they couldn't figure out! Now, that is me..... but I wasn't going to let it win or have someone do it for me! I technically did it all by myself after 3 days! And I might add it is addictive! I put 6 songs on it and finally had to make myself stop because 1 it is Halle's ipod and 2 the songs cost money! :) Halle gets it and immediately knows how to work it. I read the directions so I could show her how to turn it on, turn up the volume, scroll to the different songs, but she didn't need my help. Like instinct she just did it....
Thank you so much to everyone that came to the party!! Halle really had a great time and loved all her gifts!!! She is now looking forward to school and football season! Go Outlaws!

Carlee And Kalee At Halle's Party

Carlee and Kalee loved Halle's party. They love the water!! Carlee walked around everywhere. My dad chased her all over the shallow end. She took a few nose dives but someone was right there to quickly scoop her up. Kalee tried to drink the water every chance she got. She splashed the water all over everyone. I love this picture of my dad and Carlee. There is a similar picture of my dad and me when I was about her age.
Carlee and Kalee loved eating the cake and ice cream. They were both up til about 11 that night. I was about ready to call the people that kept feeding them!!! :)

Syd At Halle's Party

Syd enjoyed Halle's party. She swam with her friends that were there. She loved the cake and cupcakes. It was a great end of the summer birthday party.

Busy Weekend!

My dad text me yesterday and said that he hadn't heard from us in 4 days, he was just making sure we were still alive! That sums it up..... we were constantly on the go all weekend!
Debbie and Jerry took Halle and Syd along with Landen to Hot Springs Thursday and Friday. She had lost her camera so unfortunately we have no pictures. They had a great time at Magic Springs. Halle was brave or peer pressure got to her this time because a couple of her friends were there also. She rode several slides that she did not while we were there. Syd also was brave and rode Plummit Summit and the Log Ride. Friday they went to Mid America and had a big time! That day they rode up to the mountain and had a picnic. Jerry and Debbie told them how they use to do this when their daddies were their age. Halle asked if they were bored like she was.... o my so obviously that wasn't her favorite. Friday they also went to the alligator farm and were amazed.
They came home Friday night but all of them stayed at Nana and Papaw's house because Saturday they got up and went to the movies to see Ice Age. They all loved it and Debbie said that none of them had to go potty during the movie. That makes twice now that she has taken them without having to go for a potty break during the movie. They always have to when I take them!
Friday night when the girls got back Jeffrey and I decided to wash our vehicles. Halle and Syd wanted to help which lasted all of 5 minutes! They saw Carlee and Kalee playing on the trampoline and couldn't stand it any longer.... LOL
Jeffrey and I enjoyed time with just Carlee and Kalee. I must add that it was quite! Jeffrey and his dad golfed in a benefit on Saturday so mom, Brandon, and I took Carlee and Kalee and went shopping Saturday. Brandon purchased the Razorback bin and decided to carry Carlee (I think) out of the store in it. She loved it, as you can tell. They were so good shopping but were tired by the end of the day.... So was I for that matter! I spent all day yesterday doing laundry and picking up the house getting ready for Ms. Lori to come clean today. Plus I went to church twice. I needed to go back to work so I could rest!!! LOL

Party Friday

Halle is turning 7 on the 24th but I always like to have her party before school starts. It's normally less hectic! She is looking forward to seeing all her friends and swimming at the water park. I looked at the forecast for Friday and there was no chance of rain for Friday!!!
I ordered her cake Saturday. I ended up having to get one from All In Good Taste in Texarkana because Becky was going to be out of town this weekend. I was a little nervous because the girls' cakes always look awesome but I think it is going to really cute!
For family and close friends this is your formal invitation.... Halle invited more 2nd graders than I anticipated so I ran out of invitations.... sorry! Hope to see you all there!

Pine Tree '09

The Pine Tree was a complete wash out this year! Friday night Jeffrey and I took the girls down to play on the jumps, as the girls call them, but they were not working due to some sort of electrical problem. We did get to listen to some of the talent show contestants. Halle and Syd both bought a few things, aka junk, and were somewhat content to leave knowing we would be back tomorrow. However Saturday came along with the rain and storms. The storm actually blew down 40 trees on the lake around loop 2. It blew one on a camper and one on a car but as far as I know no one was injured. Thank goodness we were not camping!! Anyway back to the Pine Tree..... So the parade was cancelled Saturday morning and the concert was moved to the gym. We headed to my moms at the river to visit her and Rick once we knew the parade was cancelled.
Landen, our nephew, turns 5 tomorrow and his party was at the water park Saturday night. We stayed at the party for about an hour then headed out to make the concert. We missed the talent show winners and Trent Willmon. It ended up great being late because we ended up getting to meet Jeff Bates and Mark Wills! They were standing out behind the gym where we parked. I just walked up to them and started talking to some people standing there with them. Jeff stuck out his hand and said, "Jeff, nice to meet you." They were both super nice and took their pictute with Halle. She was really wanting a funnel cake and wasn't sure about the photo op holding her up. She said, "I'm going in to get a funnel cake!" They both thought this was very funny and told her to bring them one. I did talk her into the photo because I told her that her friend Kennedy took one with them. Plus the funnel cake people didn't move over to the gym.
The concert was great! As you can tell from the photo Syd enjoyed herself even with the noise. It really wasn't as loud as I was afraid it might be. In the photo she is playing air guitar with a glow stick we just had to purchase! I didn't get any photos of Halle once we were inside because she was too big to sit with her parents! :) 2nd grade........
Carlee and Kalee stayed with Jerry and Debbie at Landen's party.
We enjoyed the evening but it wasn't the same as sitting in the outfield of the baseball field complaining about being hot and fighting off bugs listening to good music!!!

Syd Swim Lessons

Syd managed to fit in 3 days of swim lessons last week even with all the rain. She did awesome! She swam all over the pool. She can jump off the diving board and swim to the ladder. Her only problem is that she forgets to breathe. She would jump off the diving board and not come up for air and swim straight to the ladder. The little girl can hold her breath! She did so well though. We were so proud of her.

Magic Springs

Last weekend Jeffrey and I took the girls to Magic Springs. Syd didn't get to go last year because the day we planned to go she had a virus. She didn't remember ever going to Magic Springs so she was thrilled with everything we did!
Halle is at the age and height where the kiddie rides are a little juvenile but the bigger rides are too scary or she's not quite tall enough! She did love the roller coaster but notice her riding in the front hanging on for dear life, screaming! She also loved the water park. Jeffrey took her on some of the bigger slides while Syd and I stayed at the kiddie area. Syd loved the slides in there. It was perfect for her. Halle liked the slides where you rode down on a tube but she chickened out of going down a body slide. They waited 30 minutes in line and when they got to the top Halle decided to walk back down the stairs! :) Jeffrey went down the slide though and he also rode the X Coaster. He is such a big kid when it comes to amusement parks!
Carlee and Kalee stayed with my mom at the river. They walked all over my mom's deck!
