Sweet Baby

After a long week, this is the way we all feel!!! I think we all could sleep standing up!

Be sure to read the older posts. I posted so much some went to the older posts.

Mounts Christmas 08

We celebrated Christmas with the Mounts family Saturday night. Again the girls got tons of stuff. Halle got earrings that she loved. Sydney got yet another doll and puzzles. The twins got several toys to keep down at Debbie's and a jumper for her house since they spend so much time there. They all got a little kitchen to share at Nana's and a tic-tac-toe game.
We enjoyed spending the evening playing games and watching the kids play. The girls love playing with Landen and Kinleigh.

Christmas At The River 08

We celebrated Christmas with my mom and Rick and my brother at the river on Friday. The girls received tons of gifts. My brother got them each a stuffed bear with the year that he gets them each year. I told him I was going to have to start the rule like Kate on Jon and Kate that no stuffed animals are allowed because we are beginnning to get over run with them. He got them several other gifts as well.
Halle got a Wii that all of us have played with non stop. My arm is really sore from bowling so much!! Sydney got a computer that has tons of games and a new operation game that she loves. She has killed that poor guy several times. The twins got a wagon that they will soon enjoy. Each of them got several other gifts that I am trying to find a home for. I'm thinking I need another toy room!! We are blessed to have such a wonderful family.

Glasgow Christmas 08

We celebrate Christmas with Glasgows Christmas Day. This is Jeffrey's moms family. We always get together at Debbie's house. Both of Jeffrey's grandparents have passed away, but we all still get together. His grandparents had 7 children, 18 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren with 3 on the way. Another big family that keeps growing. Most were able to be there this year. We had alot of fun playing another game of chinese Christmas. Halle played the game for me so I ended up with a big make-up kit she wanted. Sydney just enjoyed the food. The twins enjoyed getting passed around from one person to the next.

Christmas Morning 08

Santa did make it to our house Christmas morning. I guess all of our girls were good!! Santa brought Halle a baby alive that goes potty, Sydney a dora tent, and Carlee and Kalee a jumper and a aqua mat. They enjoyed looking at their big gifts, and then they dug in their stockings. Santa brought Halle and Sydney bath soaps, lotions, lipsticks, and perfume, and he brought the twins chew toys.
The girls opened their gifts from us next. Halle's gifts were a digital camera, games, and movies. Sydney got a baby alive doll, games, puzzles and movies. The twins got a baby piano, books that light up, and balls.
Halle has taken pictures with her camera non stop. Sydney loves her Dora tent, and she has piled all her toys into the tent and camped out. The twins have enjoyed their jumper. It won't be long before they are really working it.
They really enjoyed their gifts, and by this time my house is over flowing with toys, and we still have my mom, dad, and Debbie's gifts to go.

Cogburn Christmas 08

We celebrated Christmas with my dad's family Christmas Eve night. We always go to my granny's house which is getting smaller and smaller. My granny has 5 children, 13 grandchildren, and 26 grandchildren with 2 more on the way. Normally we all are crowded together in her house but unfortunately some were unable to attend this year. Most were there but my uncles were both sick so I was not able to get the photo I wanted. Santa always comes to visit the children, and all were excited to see him except yep, you guessed it, Syd. She was having no part of him. We enjoyed a good meal. We all brought gifts for our children to open and my granny bought a little something for all of us as well. Yes, she buys for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren!! Plus she includes all the in laws as well. We had a good time visiting with all the family.

Manasco Christmas 08

We celebrated Christmas with my mom's parents Christmas Eve at lunch. Between Jeffrey and my families this is the smallest. My grandparents have 3 children, 6 grandchildren and 7 great- grandchildren. We were all able to attend this year. We had a great time. The kids all opened gifts and the adults enjoyed a game of chinese Christmas.

Carlee and Kalee 6 Month Check Up

Jeffrey and I took the girls Christmas Eve for their 6 month check up. Nothing says Merry Christmas like 4 shots... Poor things. It worked out fine. We were in and out in about 30 minutes, and they were not cranky at all.
Dr. Green said they sounded better. The wheezing is gone but the cough is still lingering. They got their regular shots along with a flu shot. Most of you with children know that the first flu shot comes in 2 doses. Now normally this would be fine but I feel like I'm at the doctor's office all the time as it is. I discussed this with the nurse, and we decided that it would be fine to wait to give the 2nd flu shot with their RSV shot in February since they get their RSV shots at the beginning of the month, it won't be time to give the flu shot at the January appointment. Poor things are getting a shot every time they turn around.
They are growing!! Carlee weighed 15 lbs 10 1/2 ozs and Kalee weighed 16 lbs 4 ozs. Both were in the 50%. Carlee was 24 1/2 inches and Kalee was 23 3/4 inches. They fell only in the 3-5% in length.
We have been trying to feed them some cereal but they haven't acted all that interested just yet. Dr. Green said we could start introducing some baby food. They are still drinking 7 ozs of milk every 5 hours. They eat at 7 am, 12 pm, 5 pm and 10 pm. We stick pretty firm to that schedule.
They are wearing 3-6 month clothes and size 2 diapers. Both are trying to sit up by themselves but both still need their bumbo. They are liking their toys more and more. They are rolling all over the place. We can put them in the floor and before we know it they are across the room.
We are enjoying watching them grow!! I'm sure they will be crawling before I know it.....

Visiting Santa and Christmas Lights

Last weekend we went to see Santa and look at Christmas lights. Once again Syd does not like Santa. We all had to sit with Santa so Syd would get in the picture. Even with us all there, she still did not like it. Jeffrey was just going to make me sit with the girls but Santa thought the whole family needed to be in the picture. Halle said he was the "real" Santa. The other Santas are just the "helpers." He really did look like a real Santa. The twins got their picture alone with Santa since it was their 1st Christmas. Later that day we all headed to Arkadelphia to Iron Mountain to see the lights. The girls enjoyed looking at all the lights, and it was perfect for the twins because we didn't have to get out of the car. It was a good beginning to a busy week.

Christmas Music Program and 1st Grade Party

The week school got out for the holidays was a busy time. Halle was in the Christmas program and her class had a party. The music program was very cute. Each class got to sing a song on stage plus Halle sang with a small group of 6. Everyone did awesome and the program told a good message of the miracle of Jesus. Halle loves her classmates and enjoyed exchanging gifts with them. Everyone brought a $5 gift and they played "musical gifts." When Ms. Kesterson stopped the music, you got the gift that was in your hand. Halle got some bath stuff and lipsticks. She loved it. Of course, the week was filled making Christmas goodies. Halle made a reindeer, a ginger bread ornament and candy cane of beads. She looked forward all week to making a ginger bread house. It turned out well considering all the candy that was piled on the roof. I was amazed it held up!

Winter Sickness UGH!!!

Over the weekend all of my children decided to get sick, the twins first sickness at 6 months. I tried to take them all to the doctor at a weekend clinic on Sunday. However, they only saw children over the age of 5. Halle was diagnosed with a respiratory virus and given antibiotic and cough medicine. Sydney was some better on Monday so we decided just to take the twins to our doctor on Monday. Syd never developed the croopy cough that Halle and the twins have. Seriously it sounds like they have been smokers for 30 years.
Jeffrey and his mom took Carlee and Kalee on Monday. Dr. Green(yes we have changed due to the move of Dr Busceme) said they had what was going around. He asked if anyone else was sick in the house, and Jeffrey said they all were. Dr Green said it was very contagious. He gave them albuterol for their wheezing and cough medicine. He wrote them each a script for the albuterol and one script for the cough medicine. I just thought that was strange. He said that if they did not get better we may have to eventually due some breathing treatments. He said it was very hard to get over and it would be tougher for them because they were preemies. We had taken them just 2 weeks prior for their RSV shots but he said this was entirely different from RSV. As expensive as those shots are you would think it would fend off anything!!!!
It is now Wednesday and Halle is much better. She only missed one day of school. The twins are some better but still sound a little wheezy and have a cough. We are hoping the medicine will kick in soon. They were due for their 6 month shots today but we had to post pone that until next week due their illness. Two weeks ago Carlee weighed 14 lbs 11 1/2 ozs and Kalee weighed 14 lbs 15 ozs. Now this is naked with only a dry diaper on because the dosage depends on their weight. When we took them on Monday, Carlee weighed 15 lbs 13 ozs and Kalee weighed 16 lbs 4 ozs. Debbie said they were clothed and both probably needed a diaper, but WOW these girls are growing!

You Better Be Good For Goodness Sake

My brother bought Halle this shirt. I thought it was so funny. It says, is it too late to be good? I'm sure this is fitting for most children. Now granted she is good most of the time but she does have her moments. She wore this shirt on Friday because she said it would help her with her spelling test... hard words like: is, to, and be. She also had to write an asking sentence so she was glad that it even had a ? mark. She has only been doing this for the past several weeks. :) Anyway, she did love the shirt and thanks uncle Brandon for thinking of her so fondly!! :)

Christmas Parade 2008

All the girls enjoyed the Christmas parade. There were several floats and lots of sirens. The weather wasn't too cold so the babies enjoyed it as well. After the parade, Halle's school sang a few songs from their upcoming annual Christmas program. Halle was the only one to sit on Santa's lap. I have gotten a photo of her with Santa every year. The only picture I have with Syd is her 1st Christmas when she had no choice. We are planning on seeing him this week and hopefully I can get a picture with all the girls and Santa. Halle asked Santa for a Baby Alive that pottys. Sydney had her aunt JoJo go ask Santa for a Dora house. She wasn't getting anywhere near him. When we were leaving to go home, Sydney got mad because she thought Santa would give her the Dora house before she left. She has obviously forgotten how this works.

Syd

Sydney loves to take a bath these days. Most of the time she just takes a shower because it's faster and with 4 girls to get ready, faster is what we need!! On days when I'm off and we get to stay home, she gets to take a bath. The other day I went to check on her and I found her with all these bubbles!! She decided to empty most of the shampoo into the bath with her. With a smile like that, how could I get on to her?! Anyways I swear there is a picture somewhere of me that looks just like this one.
The other picture I took the other night. Halle and I had been to her gymnastics class. When I came home I found Syd asleep in the babies swing in the toy room. Both Halle and her love to sit in this swing. She looked quite comfortable all covered up asleep in the swing.

UN Invited Guest

The other night Jeffrey and I woke up to the awfullest sounding noise you have ever heard!! Jeffrey got up to see what was happening and quickly came back in the room and told me that I was not going to believe what the noise was. Our chocolate lab, Coco, along with his parents dog, Joplin, had treed a coon on our back deck. Coco at one point even got up on the ledge to try to get the coon down. Jeffrey tried to call the dogs to the front of the house so the coon would get down, however this did not work. The coon was too scared to come down and who could blame it the way our dogs were barking and growling at it. It was 2 in the morning and there was going to be no sleep until the coon was down. Jeffrey called his dad to come help because I was not going out there with that coon. It was hissing and the dogs were barking like crazy. When Jerry got there he held the dogs while Jeffrey knocked the coon down with a broom. We quickly let the dogs go but the coon proved to be too fast for them and scurried up a tree before they could get to it. Amazingly all 4 girls slept through the whole thing....what good little sleepers we have!!

Mounts Christmas 2008

Every year the Mounts' family still gathers in early December to celebrate Christmas. Jeffrey's grandparents passed away a few years ago but we still gather in their memory and have some fun and celebrate the season. We always cook mexican food and once again it was wonderful! Jeffrey's uncles are twins, and I thought the picture of them with girls was priceless. I will definately be taking the same picture with my uncles Christmas. We always take time to get several pictures of the family. I thought the one of the group of us turned out well, even Syd was in the picture taking mood. We can never tell about her!! Many of the readers will know Nic Mounts. I will explain why I took the photo for those who do not. He is Jeffrey's 1st cousin but he was also one of my classmates. He is a big guy and I thought he looked so funny holding the twins. Those of you who know him best will get a kick out of this (Jami and Sara).
We are planning for an exciting but busy holiday season!!

Gearing Up For Christmas

The girls and I put up Christmas decorations this weekend. We got all the decorations inside up, but it was way too cold to put the lights on the house this weekend. We are hoping to get them up this weekend.
Sydney has been saying that are tree is awesome, and Halle is just ready for the presents to get wrapped and put under the tree. Carlee and Kalee like looking at the lights.
I love this time of year. I'm ready to start getting everyone's Christmas cards. I'm hoping to get mine out in the next couple of weeks.

Thanksgiving 2008

We had a great Thanksgiving this year. We have many things to be thankful for this year. We are thankful for our family, the health of our children, our wonderful jobs, and our home. The girls loved playing with all their cousins. They even found a tree to climb. The twins were passed around from one aunt, uncle, cousin, grandparent to another. Jeffrey and I are neither one lacking in the family department! We both have huge families who all fortunately live very close to us.
Jeffrey even found time to go hunting Thankgiving morning. He killed this 8 point on land beside our house. Halle was very excited. She loves deer meat.
We are truly blessed. I was reading an article this week where a mother said that she enjoyed watching pieces of her heart play and enjoy life everyday. I thought I couldn't explain it any better!
