1 Year Check-Ups and Carlee's ECHO

Brandon and I took Carlee and Kalee for their 1 year well-baby check-up.
Carlee weighed 21lbs 15 ozs and was 27 3/4 inches. Kalee weighed 22lbs 6 ozs and was 27 3/4 inches. Carlee was in the 50% for weight and 10% for length. Kalee was in the 75% for weight and 10% for length. They continue to be close in weight but once again Kalee is a little bigger. Dr. Greene said that they were growing at a good rate and was pleased with their growth. They each got 4 shots and their blood taken at this appointment. It was a very long day! Poor things you can see in one picture where Kalee was looking at what was coming and yes, she started crying! I made Brandon hold them down when they got their blood taken. He did so well with the first one I told him he could hold the other one down too.
Both girls:
Wear size 3 diapers, Wear size 2 shoe, Wear size 9-12 month clothes
Pulling up and cruising around furniture
Drinking whole milk from their sippy cups
Eating some table foods.... they love potatoes and cheetos
Still taking a pacifier.... I'm a little concerned they are going to be hard to break from this. Halle and Syd were off their pacifiers at 14 months so we will see how well I do at breaking them!
Say a few words, momma, dada, and I swear they say bite
Know the meaning of the word NO.... Both cry when you tell them NO.
Have 4 teeth a piece
Love to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse but will also watch Hannah Montana and Jonas with Halle and Syd
Love being outside and swimming
Still fight over toys but Carlee is beginning to fight back
Love their "jumps" still.... when I get tired of chasing them I put them in their "jumps"
It's hard to believe that a year has passed so quickly! This time last year I was seriously about to go crazy because they were still in the hospital. They came home July 12th. We have been blessed that they are so healthy and hitting their milestones.
Jeffrey and I took Carlee for her yearly cardiology appointment. She had yet another ECHO. This time it was not quite so easy. She is obviously more active and didn't want to be still for very long periods of time. The lady was very patient and after about 45 minutes we were able to get all the pictures she needed. After the ECHO at Baptist we headed over to Dr. Sotomora's office on University. He reviewed her ECHO. He informed us that her VSD aka her heart murmur had closed up. However he detected a new hole in her heart called a PFO. The VSD hole was between her ventricles, the bottom 2 chamber of the heart, and the PFO is between her atriums, the top 2 chambers of her heart. He said he was not concerned and that her heart was functioning well. He recommended we return in one year to perform another ECHO. He thinks that it should close up as well. He said that 80% of the time these holes close on their own as did the VSD.
We feel fortunate that her appointment went as well as it did and that her VSD closed up. Please pray with us that her PFO closes as well.
